The bulk of my experience at this point is with the CMS (Content Management System) WordPress. I am familiar with this blogging software not only as a result of using it for the past several years on various personal projects, but also as a result of recently having supported clients on the platform.

For example, I created a website for Personal Performance from scratch using a logo they provided and the colors they specified. The site is arranged so that new posts in each of their blog categories appear in separate sections on the sidebar.

I also did a generous amount of updating to an existing site for a quilting store. For this site I centered all of their content, resized it to fit 960px, converted it into a Toolbox child theme, and updated the navigation menu and sidebars for easy updating.

In addition to these tasks, I also helped this store produce its weekly newsletter, for which I would scan a new piece of fabric, change the colors in the newsletter to match, include my own photographs of new products and fabrics, and occassionally contribute content. This newsletter was sent out using MailChimp, which allowed us to monitor the effectiveness of each campaign by observing how many of our emails were opened and when.

Finally, although the project was never completed, I also assisted this store in their attempt to establish an online store. I was able to produce a fairly polished basic site using Magento, after having tried WP e-Commerce and OpenCart, but in the end the client felt that this solution was too complicated and decided to go with a niche producer of online stores for quilting businesses.
