I gladly spent about twenty minutes helping someone get their car out of the snow today, just like somebody else did for me yesterday. It’s interesting how the snow makes it possible for people to reach out and help others. I would imagine that part of it is that everyone is being given leeway for their other responsibilities, so they have some time, energy, and good will to spare. For a brief moment autonomous peaceful units sprout into existence, and just as quickly they disperse, even though they’re still there, waiting.
